Hi to everyone on these forums! Smiley

Love the discussions, esp. about quality of services and petitions to reopen new/old lines.

My interests lie with:
Re-opening (within 3- 5 years) the Tavistock North line.
Re-opening the Helston line as a preserved line, and possibly, limited main service.
Re-opening (in the long term ) a direct service from Falmouth & Truro to Newquay, via Perranporth & St.Agnes.

Hi, Tinminer - welcome to the forum!

Good luck with all of those - particularly the Tavistock line!

William Huskisson MP (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post - a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London, depending on context) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: Stop, Look, Listen.

"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner."  Discuss.

Welcome Tinminer. Here's hoping that we get some good news v. soon on Tavistock and the preservation group working valiantly to reopen the first part of the Helston line seem to be progressing well.
