Congratulations to all of the entrants who've made it to the ACoRP (Association of Community Rail Partnerships) shortlist for their 10th annual awards - I notice quite a sprinkling from FGW (First Great Western) territory; I won't list them in case I miss some out.   Full list at http://atrebatia.info/shortlist.pdf .  There's considerable work to be done for each award submitted, even to get them in front of the judges for consideration; regrettably, TransWilts isn't represented in the shortlist due to my personal failure in that department - hopefully I can do better next year if I'm still in a role where I'm submitting entries.   For the record, our two entries, discussed here at http://www.firstgreatwestern.info/coffeeshop/index.php?topic=14329 and http://www.firstgreatwestern.info/coffeeshop/index.php?topic=14331 would have been up there with the others on the shortlist if I had got it right.  Of course, competition for the actual awards will be fierce, so it would have been anyone's guess how they would have got on in Scarborough.

Please - if you have submitted / know of any the projects shortlisted, tell us about them here or provide a link.   Let's celebrate the success of community rail!

Good luck to them!  Smiley

William Huskisson MP (Member of Parliament) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: stop, look, listen.

"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner."  Discuss.
