I was shocked today to see that Network rail have installed a creepy hologram woman at London Bridge who waves you over and then gives a patronising message. (use the "elevators" if you have large bags) The problem is, the sensor gets set off all the time, and the nearby shopkeepers were visably annoyed, despite it being new. My fellow commuters were also tutting and rolling their eyes. The words "nanny state" were used. I found a YouTube video of a similar one at Kings Cross. It seems that these are popping up all over the place. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=biB115gXSvUWhat a waste of money. And it's "lifts" not "elevators" in the UK▸ .

I think I saw one of these annoying things at Reading when it was FGW▸ . I do belive that it either got 'broken' or was 'removed'.
Waste of money if you ask me.
"What do you get if you cross a piece of large luggage and an escalator?"

The Reading one was just an audio message.
The hologram is an NR» thing, I believe King's Cross was the trial station and that they have decided to roll it out a bit

I have not seen this at a station yet, when did it appear at King's Cross? They have a very similar one at Bristol airport just before the security/bag scan part - she gave me some advice when I was last there which lead to my bag (only, thankfully) being searched the man who did the searching in the end told me not to do what this hologram had advised!

About September or October last year, not sure when exactly but it was a few weeks after the summer holidays. Paul

Perhaps at Paddington one could be installed above the departure screens for use when there's disruption which says in a ghostly voice "Go to Waterlooooooooo!" Now, you're not going to fail to notice that, are you!?

I knew I'd come across one of these things somewhere, I thought it might have been Leeds station, but it could well have been Bristol Airport. Either way, damned thing made me jump out of my skin when it woke up and started wiffling away at me, there's enough stress and aggro going through airports these days without them trying to give me a heart attack as well.

Ah, after much deliberation as to where i'd seen one of these oddities before, I think there was one on the Piccadilly line platforms at Heathrow central, again asking people with heavy bags to use the lifts rather than the escalators. She is no longer in residence...

William Huskisson MP▸ was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830. Many more have died in the same way since then. Don't take a chance: stop, look, listen.

Exorcism suggests a sort of 'going up'. Hope she didn't take her luggage on the escalators and used the elevators instead!

There's another one at St Albans, this time dressed as a POLICEWOMAN. My goodness, I bet all the thieves of Hertfordshire are petrified of being caught red handed by a cardboard cutout. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qcRSw4tKn2U
