William Huskisson MP▸ was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830. Many more have died in the same way since then. Don't take a chance: stop, look, listen.
"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner." Discuss.

Had to embed the link after seeing the photo! A TRAIN service connecting Plymouth to London has taken on a new look this week seeking to entice people to the South West. First Great Western has wrapped its Plymouth to Paddington service in an image of Britain^s Ocean City featuring Smeaton^s Tower and the Hoe. Although the company has wrapped up other trains in the past this is the first time it has used the method to promote a specific destination. First Great Western spokesman James Davis said: ^It^s a great chance to promote the city and surrounding area. ^Although the route covers Plymouth to London, it can reach down to Penzance and up to South Wales and Hereford so covers huge numbers of people.^ Mr Davis also said that from a visual viewpoint it was a great way to remind people locally what was on their doorstep. The 14-metre long vinyl wrap covering the front engine has been produced in conjunction with city tourism coordinator Destination Plymouth. Chief executive Amanda Lumley said: ^We^ve got our summer season off to a cracking start with the Figaro race and the jazz and blues festival, and MTV Crashes has really raised the excitement levels about Plymouth.^ Plymouth City Council leader Tudor Evans said he was also enthusiastic about the new branding. ^This is a great sight,^ Cllr Evans said. ^ We want to let everyone know how great Plymouth ^ Britain^s Ocean City ^ is and there^s surely nothing better than to have our most iconic views on show right in the heart of the capital as well as all along the region.^ Read more: http://www.plymouthherald.co.uk/Train-wrapped-Plymouth-branding-heads-London/story-21293253-detail/story.html#ixzz35m9lAO1GRead more at http://www.plymouthherald.co.uk/Train-wrapped-Plymouth-branding-heads-London/story-21293253-detail/story.html#1rYU2AXhHIldGW4a.99Also love the phrase "the front engine"....

Knowing the way Tudor Evans works I'm surprised he didn't insist it was named after him!

So the purpose of the vinyl wrap is to make commuters stood on a crowded platform at Ealing Broadway waiting for their crowded Turbo back home look in envy at the holidaymakers heading off on their luxurious HST▸ and want to book a holiday to Plymouth?
Hmm, can't really see it having much benefit.

As a Janner I see your point and take no offence! , perhaps a better tactic from the perspective of those becalmed on crowded platforms would have been to chosen a picture of Swindon? Would make them count their blessings!!!

Would make them count their blessings!!! I can't give you Swindon on an HST - but I can give you Plymouth at Swindon on an HST. Having had a chance to see it close up, at Gloucester, I think it is actually one of the better HST adverts
