Cancellations to services between London Paddington and Reading
Owing to a person hit by a train between London Paddington and Reading all lines are blocked.

Understand the incident happened at/near West Ealing and sadly is a fatality.

As always, thoughts with the train crew/railway staff involved and those who knew the person involved.

Train involved was the 17:28 from Worcester Foregate Street to London Paddington.

Relief Lines have now re-opened, but likely to be long delays as nothing has left Paddington for over an hour.

Trains are not calling at Ealing Broadway.

I understand from Tweets that the incident may have been at Ealing Broadway rather than West Ealing as originally thought.

Without wishing to detract from how bad it was for all the people involved.. which I hopefully won't do.. This did leave me stuck at Paddington.. Information wise it seemed to be ok in my opinion.. trains were a a bit slow when they did finally get going and maybe a few changes to where trains stopped to help people trying to get home might have helped out (I got to Paddington at ten to 8 and just got home not long ago (shortly after 11) and Maidenhead isn't even that long a distance but we did have to spend quite a while at Slough as a couple of trains that stopped there then Reading did just that...

......In my days of commuting home via Paddington if this sort of thing happened I used to nip down to Waterloo and take the scenic route to Slough/Maidenhead via Windsor.

What was really annoying was that the last train to Marlow left Maidenhead just 1 minute before the slightly delayed 2300 from Paddington arrived. The ATOC^» (Association of Train Operating Companies see - here) help desk (when I found a help point that worked) was completely unable to grasp the situation and authorise a taxi for the stranded passengers.
