Yet another one, in my occasional series - I do like to give my colleague 'bignosemac' something to do, working these out! Pictures taken from the same overbridge, in opposite directions:

Very much my old stomping ground - Brislington station, on the B&NS. Happy days; jam factory smells, rusty pre-war cars dumped on the allotments - sigh..!

Correct, both of you. I was surprised at the extent of that site of the old station at Brislington - you can see the remains of a platform in the centre of my second picture, but there's a fair bit of land off to either side, which was obviously used for railway purposes in the past. As to the apparently long disused car parking bays, marked out on the old trackbed, on the northern side - what was all that about?

I believe the disused parking belonged to a warehouse-like building beside the old trackbed on Bath Rd - the building was a place of worship used by an organisation called the Exclusive Brethren; this story may go some way to explaining how it came to be disused. By the way, not car parking - coach parking! Fleets of coaches with blackened windows used to park there...

Many thanks for that interesting background information, Red Squirrel. I've found a couple of good photos, taken from the same vantage point, for an interesting historic comparison, at http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1909480 and http://bristol-rail.co.uk/wiki/File:Brislington_station_1959.jpg

My latest poser is the indirect result of my van breaking down at a location which I have passed many times, but have not previously had the leisure to photograph. So, simply to while away the time before my colleague arrived to rescue me, I took the opportunity to start another quiz with this picture: It's visible from the public highway.

Are we perhaps near the Somerset & Dorset Joint?
I really have no clue for this one. Away from (normal) keyboard at the moment and sans laptop. Doing Google Earth searches on a smartphone, with very little in the way of geographical features, is just a pain.

On reading this it occured to me for the first time that "Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway" could have an alternative connotation. Given that it runs through Worthy Farm, it could have really come into its own delivering supplies to the Glastonbury Festival...

No, we are not. Not even close - but, come to think about it, I wouldn't want you to wring your hands over it ...

I would suspect you might be on the Wrington Vale Light Railway (or rather on a road taking a picture of it!)
I was indeed. I'm going to rule out the section between Congresbury and Wrington
You would be quite right to do so: I was driving towards Congresbury, but hadn't even reached Wrington when the door fell off. I was actually stranded here. And to explain my previous cryptic clue: Not even close - but, come to think about it, I wouldn't want you to wring your hands over it ... I was indeed very close to the Butcombe brewery in Wrington - it's built on the old trackbed, just off to the right in my picture.

You would be quite right to do so: I was driving towards Congresbury, but hadn't even reached Wrington when the door fell off. Is that a regular occurence?? I'll have to keep my eyes peeled next time i'm driving through a narrow Somerset lane for errant doors in the road.
