I have updated my "train times (transwilts) v train times (required / rest of country) diagram that I used on pages such as this one back in 2008.

Key -
Hollow stars - services that were running in 2008 (and still run)
up arrow - current services to Swindon (showing departure time from Westbury)
down arrow - current services from Swindon (departure time)
... the green, hollow down arrow is the late bus connection that accepts train tickets

The diagram base data is now rather old, and it's a slightly distorted measurement because the  real time of interest to people is when they arrive in the morning and when they depart in the evening.   But it shows - really well - how the new services are spot on for the commute to Swindon, and remain poor for commuters the other way; fair enough in that there's only one extra train available and it can't be in two places at once, and more numerous people are commuting up in the morning than down. Note too the steepness of the slope on the graph - back to my earlier post that says the 08:49 would be so much better at 08:36.   The graph of general figures mirrors the local findings!

Edit note: Typo corrected, purely for clarity - 'two' for 'tow'. CfN.  Wink
