Weather reports which I may have erroneously read have hinted after further downpours in the South West. This is the extend of the flooding on the Somerset Levels around 16:00 on 30/01/2014. This is the second of 2 films I recorded. I'll put the first one up later today. But the extend of the flooding is more significant than recent News Reports had me believe... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JBWP3DxduqQ

Are rail tickets valid on connecting boat services ?

A proper intercity train has a minimum of 8 coaches, gangwayed throughout, with first at one end, and a full sized buffet car between first and standard. It has space for cycles, surfboards, luggage etc. A 5 car DMU▸ is not a proper inter-city train. The 5+5 and 9 car DMUs are almost as bad.

All I want to know is whether to head to Axminster (pub) or Bath (pub) tomorrow to watch the rugby! I hope some trains are running somewhere or I shall have to spend the day in Frome with people that prefer their football with a spherical ball.

That made me chuckle Cynthia [/quote] Always pleased to raise a smile, thetrout; though I did wonder whether someone might complain about me trivialising severe weather conditions, which cause distress and disruption. I'm not really insensitive..... just a bit mad.

If it rains much more the Rec will be under water.

The rec is supposed to be the assembly point and "runners village" for the Bath Half marathon. The organisers have reported that it is so waterlogged that they will be reducing access to it and facilities on it in an attempt to prevent it turning onto a quagmire. http://bathhalf.co.uk/2014/02/runners-village-weather-related-restrictions/

And I just hear there's been a 4.1 magnitude earth tremor in the Bristol Channel, felt in Devon. Hope that doesn't shake up the infrastructure.

I thought it might have been caused by the Secretary of State for Communities etc. He might have got himself in a bit of a pickle, going for a paddle in the levels..oh hang on that would have been another Somerset tsunami....! Perhaps he fell into the Dawlish gap.....and yes I know that's the English Channel not the Bristol Channel. My degree in geography does come in useful sometimes !
