Greedy train companies yank car parking prices up

"Rail bosses were today accused of "daylight robbery" and "ripping off" passengers."

Should parking be regulated as per fares? Are these greedy
TOCs

just lining their pockets?
A few examples from the
FGW
▸
(First Great Western)
network in the article, but none of them FGW operated stations - does anyone know whether FGW have yanked up car parking prices?

When I commuted to London my local station charged ^930 per year to park. Instead of paying this, I adjusted my travel times* to ensure I could get a train from the next station down the line where I could park on the street free of charge. Unfortunately, not everyone is lucky enough to have another station less than a mile away and end up having to pay these huge sums.
The time that most longer distance commuters arrive at the station and the extended journey times probably removes public transport as an option for most. It certainly wasn't an option for me.

The retail price index over the last 20 years shows an increase of around 80%
The cost to park for one day at Didcot Parkway has risen by 500% or so over that time. (It also used to be free at the weekend too.)
The biggest single jump was at the time

I checked yesterday and the price of an annual parking ticket for Swindon main car park is the same this year as last year (and the year before), so no price rises so far.

Daily rate unchanged as well today at least in the west car park

Car parking at Nailsea & Backwell Station is currently free.
There
is
a proposal to introduce charges -
not
