07:29 Exeter St Davids to London Paddington due 10:45
This train will no longer call at Chippenham and Swindon.
This is due to flooding.

Looks like it's diverted from Bath Spa via the Berks and Hants.    Where's the water?

It's not specific, but from First Great Western JourneyCheck:

Quote
Cancellations to services between Chippenham and Swindon
Owing to flooding between Chippenham and Swindon trains have to run at reduced speed.
Train services running through these stations may be cancelled or delayed at short notice. An estimate for the resumption of normal services will be provided as soon as the problem has been fully assessed.

William Huskisson MP (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post (a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London), depending on context) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: Stop, Look, Listen.

"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner."  Discuss.

Some cancelations of services between Paddington and Bristol now being listed reducing the service to hourly in both directions. The rain continues to fall over a large part of Southern England which has hardly moved for quite sometime now not helping the situation.

I have seen a photo from this morning showing the Wootton Basset area looking a bit damp.

It would have to be west of the Junction at Wootton Bassett or the South Wates Trains would be affected.

Sunset yesterday (Saturday 4th) over Melksham Station.   Speed was limited to 5 m.p.h. for a short while, but then raised back to line speed.
