Appeal for information after teenager^s ^1,000 vintage flute is stolen from train ^ West MidlandsBritish Transport Police (BTP▸ ) officers are appealing for information following the theft of a flute worth ^1,000 from on board a train in the West Midlands.The victim, a teenage girl from Stourbridge, was travelling between Stourbridge and Solihull when her musical instrument was taken from the 1651hrs Stourbridge - Dorridge train on Tuesday, 15 October 2013.
Investigating officer, PC Shani Plumb, said: ^The victim and her family are extremely upset at the loss of the flute as, not only is it worth a considerable amount of money, it is described as a vintage model which is no longer made and, therefore, is of huge sentimental value. The flute ^ a silver-headed Yamaha model - has not been handed into the any railway lost property offices so we are investigating the theft of this item from the train. Enquiries have been ongoing to trace the missing flute, including reviewing
CCTV▸ footage and liaising with second hand shops and websites.
^The victim, who is from Stourbridge, is particularly devastated at losing her property. She is also currently unable to sit an exam without her flute so I would, therefore, urge anyone with information to come forward about the whereabouts of the flute in this photograph to come forward and contact British Transport Police in confidence. Likewise, if you have been offered a flute resembling the one in the photograph, I would ask you to come forward as you may have information which can assist the investigation.^
