BTP appeal after man racially abused ^ Camborne railway station

British Transport Police (BTP) officers are calling on the public^s help after a member of the public was racially abused at Camborne railway station.

The incident happened around 2am on Sunday, 17 November on the station platform.

PC Wayne Frost, the investigating officer, said: ^A 42-year-old Asian man was checking the timetable at the station when he was approached by two men who racially abused him. The victim left the station and reported the incident to police.^

Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or has any information about who may be responsible, to come forward with information.

PC Frost added: ^BTP does not tolerate Hate Crime and anyone who is a victim should report it immediately to police so we can work to trace and arrest any offenders as soon as possible.^

Anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40, or text 61016, quoting background B4/WWA of 19/11/13. Information can also be passed to the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.

William Huskisson MP (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post (a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London), depending on context) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: Stop, Look, Listen.

"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner."  Discuss.
