Weeding through my many pictures taken on the rail network, I found this one:

William Huskisson MP▸ (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post (a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London), depending on context) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: Stop, Look, Listen.

"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner."  Discuss.

The platform bricks were indeed a clue - and the reflections in the train windows.  Tongue

Interestingly, I've seen the Devon & Cornwall Community Rail Partnership liveried unit in Bristol more often than I've seen the Severnside Community Rail Partnership one there!  Shocked Roll Eyes Grin

Both units (D&CRP▸ (Community Rail Partnership) 150129, SCRP 150130) are based at Exeter DMU▸ (Diesel Multiple Unit) Depot.

These units are "walking"adverts.  I think I would prefer a hypothetical TransWilts Rail Partnership unit to be active in the general Bristol area most of the time - from Brighton to Cardiff and Great Malvern to Taunton rather than just on Swindon - Salisbury, but with occasional trips as far afield as St. Ives.

In the last 18 months I have travelled aboard the Devon and Cornwall liveried unit from St Erth to St Ives, Teignmouth to Paignton, Exeter to Exmouth and twice between Swindon and Westbury.  The latter two journeys were a year apart with the trip to Exmouth in between.

The Severnside unit has proved more elusive - I have made just one trip from Westbury to Bristol Temple Meads.

Not that I am a train spotter or anything..... Grin

As soon as I saw the bricks I knew it was Bristol Temple Meads. Sadly others beat me too it. It's not the first time I've guessed Bristol Temple Meads on this forum just on the bricks alone...
