The 6.22pm service from Truro to Bristol was stuck at the station and customers were not given any explanation for the hold up.

First Great Western told the West Briton there had been a ^train fault on the line^ that had caused multiple problems.

Esme Ashcroft from Carharrack was waiting for the train at Truro. She said: ^About 15 minutes before it was due there was an announcement that it was delayed and then about 30 minutes later they said they were suffering serious delays. People were getting really annoyed. There was a lady opposite with two young children and the baby was crying ^ it was obviously distressing.^

The train left Truro at approximately 7.45pm but First Great Western said there could be further delays.

The 18.22 Truro to Bristol train is the 17:39 Penzance to Paddington service - the last daytime train from Cornwall to London.

On Friday it developed a problem in the driver's cab shortly after leaving Penzance and was sat on the single line at Marazion for a time. 

It was then taken back to Penzance station where fitters worked on it and managed to either cure the problem or swap to a new set.  It eventually left 82 minutes late and reached Truro at 19:44 - so I am not sure where the line "The 6.22pm service from Truro to Bristol was stuck at the station " came from.  Admittedly it did arrive 80 minutes late - but was only at the station for two minutes!

It didn't make up anytime en route and arrived in London just after 1am.

And I had previously resisted the temptation to ask whether anyone could provide any evidence that an Adelante has ever visited Truro - delayed or otherwise: I don't think so?
