I've just bought a return to Birmingham for 50p.  Plenty of availability remaining, advance fares only.

Fill in your details at http://www.chilternrailways.co.uk/es50offer then you'll get taken to a special page on the booking engine.

Printer required to print the tickets.

That's over 30 weeks of this year that they've run this promotion, and they bleat that they're losing money....I suspect just as many would take up the offer if offered at ^5 return....

Meanwhile, they fleece their commuters....

Thanks for the heads up Brucey.

I've bagged a return trip on Chiltern's loco hauled services for tomorrow. 1315 off Marylebone and 1555 return from Moor Street.

And I believe Business Zone upgrades on these two Off-Peak services will be ^10 each, so ^20.50 for a return trip in what is, to all intents and purposes, First Class. Bargain.  Grin

It will be on those two trains.

Hope it doesn't fail on you, too. Lots of that happening at the moment.

Give the hot food a try - it really isn't bad, and good value too.

Yes, one of the Kidderminster's failed at Bicester North last night which made full use of the reversible working available on the platforms there.  Good job it was in the 'down' direction though as the signalling is far less flexible in the 'up' direction!

Is there a list of loco hauled services?  I see them passing every morning and do want to give one a try sometime.

It is a little shame this promotion only offers tickets from Marylebone (for obvious reasons though) as I'll be taking a Chiltern train from West Ruislip into Central London, just to then pass back through West Ruislip some thirty minutes later Roll Eyes

On the Chiltern timetable (.pdf) the loco-hauled services are indicated with 'MS' on the header. MS = Mainline Silver train.

Alternatively, here's a link to the diagrams if you want to try to bag different sets:

Tucking into Sweet Chilli Chicken Noodles. A hot dish for ^3.50. Cheaper than a FGW (First Great Western) sarnie!

An a nice glass of Sauv Blanc as well.

I was on the 1.15 pm this afternoon! What a coincidence. (not in the BZ)

Perfect run.

You're not wrong there ChrisB!

As I said earlier, I had the Sweet Chilli Chicken and Noodles:

Yes, it's only microwaved fare, but for it to be plated up and served at seat, it really is a bargain at ^3.50. There was also a Chicken Tikka and Rice and a veggie dish on offer.

10/10 to Chiltern for both value and quality.  Smiley

Yep, perfect run.

I did stroll right through the train between Leamington Spa and Warwick, taking photos of the Silver train interior. So I very likely walked by you Btline.  Wink

If you saw someone seething with rage after receiving an email on their iPhone it was likely me! Lets just say it was a good job I wasn't in the quiet zone!
