This doesn't appear to have made it onto here yet.. This train broke down at Maidenhead this morning blocking the relief line... It was something to do with the brakes coming on just as we were leaving.. It ended up with a fitter being called and us leaving 50 minutes late (not the best for a 20 minute journey).. But they did keep us informed and no one seemed to mind terribly much.. I guess it was made better for those of us that sat it out on the train rather than getting off to get on the other couple of services that they diverted to the mainline around us which were no doubt rather full to overflowing...

I wish they'd diverted us, we were sitting at the signal just outside Maidenhead for the whole 50 minutes! At least it was nice and cool and airy for a change Smiley

I guess you were the train stuck just behind us then? The 8.11 from Maidenhead? I think that got stuck with nowhere to cross over to the mainline as other trains subsequently did cross over

Yep, thats the one. Made a change actually being able to get off as only a handfull of people got on at Maidenhead, compared to the hundreds that usually try and cram on before you get a chance to get off Grin

Oh I know, its terrible at Maidenhead in the mornings (not helped by the fact they manage to get 3 trains all arriving at the same time - on the odd occasion they are all on time anyway Wink ) - I feel sorry for the poor buggers that get on the 08:11, most of the time its standing only when we arrive, and although a lot of people get off at Maidenhead, a hell of a lot more get on Sad

The one time I have gotten an earlier turbo (was about an hour earlier if I recall, might be wrong, only did it once), it was a 5 or 6 car and practically empty all the way to Maidenhead. No idea if it got busier later in the journey, but it seemed to me those two services were around the wrong way (especially given the number of kids using the later service for school).
