How many FGW (First Great Western) services from Great Malvern towards Bristol actually operated today?

From this morning, I recall seeing that the 0851 to Westbury was cancelled; the 1051 to Brighton was starting at Worcester FS; the 1451 is starting from Bristol, and I see that the 1528 from Warminster to Great Malvern, only seems to be running between Bristol and Worcester.

Not much of a service is it?

Add to that, delays on the Cotswold Line this morning, and some delays this evening, then it doesn't say much for First's super-slow, robust timetable a week into it?

I was unfourtunately tangled up in the web of cancellations because my 17:28 Great Malvern-bound train failed at Westbury...after starting at Warminster! Click here!

That said, it did eventually run...65 minutes late...

Edit: Oh dear, I just checked the live departure boards and it departed Cheltenham Spa 1 hour 50 minutes late and is expected 2 hours 50 late into Great Malvern!!

19/12/2007 :

08:51 Great Malvern to Westbury due 11:36
This train has been cancelled. This is due to a train fault.

Replacement road transport has been arranged between Worcester Foregate Street and Gloucester.

This Thursday (3rd January) wasn't much better.

The 0851 Great Malvern to Westbury started at Worcester (That's becoming a fairly regular cancellation); the 1551 and 1706 from Great Malvern to Paddington didn't go (the latter started at Worcester), and the 0531 Great Malvern to Paddington started down the road at Didcot!

I don't envy you lot up that part of the world, all you ever see on the FGW (First Great Western) website is Malvern trains terminating short of their destination due to traincrew unavailiabilty, when are they going to sort out their rostering!

Like I've said before, when 3 drivers are booked to work ONE train, it's no wonder that there's a shortage of train crew for other services.

I've also seen an HST (High Speed Train) working forward ECS (Empty Coaching Stock) empty coaching stock as being worked forward DOO (Driver-Only Operation (that is, trains which operate without carrying a guard)) (Driver Only Operation).
Only thing didn't go anywhere as the 1 member of train crew was a Train Manger not a Driver, it will never get better when rosters don't know Drivers from Guards.

So 3 ex-Wessex services didn't or won't start from Great Malvern: the Brighton, the 1251 to Weymouth and the mid-evening service to Warminster.

And the 1706 to Paddington is starting at Worcester

So are things improving?
