Okay lets try

1.        Swindon platform1
2.        Pomona, Manchester Metrolink
3.        London Paddington
4.        Bradford-on-Avon
5.        London King's Cross
6.        Stevenage
7.        Den Haag Centraal, The Hague
8.        Swing Bridge over Sheepwash Channel, Oxford
9.        Coventry
10.      Liverpool

Basset

That's an eight

and

Out of desperation, I offer the following totally cynical ploy (if this is cheating, then feel free to withhold the score) :

1. Swindon
2. Pomona, Manchester Metrolink
3. London Paddington
4. Bradford-on-Avon
5. London King's Cross
6. Stevenage
7. Doniford Halt
8. Swing Bridge over Sheepwash Channel, Oxford
9. Stafford
10. Albert Docks, Liverpool

That is a well strategised 9  Wink

OK .. a clue to think about .. centre tracks at terminus stations are hardly likely to be highly polished and well used to the extent of a main line over which trains pass every few minutes.
On that basis, I suggest that the last one is 7. Leiden, Centraal Station - partly on the grounds I was there a few years ago, though as it wasn't dark at the time I don't recognise it.

And that was a well read clue.  However, still just 9.  I'm surprised ... all around the goal, but no-one has the ball in yet.

Hmm.  Wink

Isn't 7. Stogumber, rather than Doniford Halt?  Tongue

If so it's changed a bit since we were both there Chris:

I think I had better make a further comment to help identify the picture which seems to be causing an issue.  I find the Harwich to Hoek ferry a useful one ... for travel to the Netherlands and to Germany.   I suppose I'm surprised just how difficult the final picture is turning out to be considering that this is a route that I expect other who use this forum might travel on from time to time too.

I'm going to hazard a guess for number 7 of Rotterdam Centraal - I can't see that anyone's suggested that yet.

Indeed they haven't ... that's the suggestion that I've been looking for, as it's the correct answer  Grin

The train is the service from Hoek van Holland; this is now (I think) the only service from Hoek ... and comes into one end of this platform. Behind the buffer stop , a crossover brings through trains off those well polished centre tracks onto the other end of the same platform.   Connections onwards from Rotterdam to ... well - all sorts of places.

Complete (10 of 10) set is ...
1. Swindon
2. Pomona, Manchester Metrolink
3. London Paddington
4. Bradford-on-Avon
5. London King's Cross
6. Stevenage
7. Rotterdam Central
8. Swing Bridge over Sheepwash Channel, Oxford
9. Stafford
10. Albert Docks, Liverpool
