Hmm. Wink  Well, on second thoughts, 4. is probably not Taunton, after all.  Tongue Roll Eyes Grin

However, 10. is definitely Liverpool:

10. Liverpool (historic docks area) I was rather surprised to find GWR (Great Western Railway) stuff in Liverpool, did they actually operate trains to/from there?

Such surprise has been expressed on this forum in the past about that, Rhydgaled - see http://www.firstgreatwestern.info/coffeeshop/index.php?topic=6670.msg66439#msg66439  Wink

OK .. a clue to think about .. centre tracks at terminus stations are hardly likely to be highly polished and well used to the extent of a main line over which trains pass every few minutes.

No pictures from Somersetshire in this series, Chris ... and no stage set photos either. I was in the Wyvern wing of Holby City hospital the week before last, but that's nothing to do with this forum or (as it happens) thread.

Thanks, so they came up through Chester and Birkenhead. But how did they get under/over the river, ferry? Mersyrail uses a tunnel which is barred to all but electric traction doesn't it?

The map linked to in that page has also reminded me of a question I was asked today, and have pondered myself in the past. Which railway company used a green, red and white colour scheme? Aberystwyth is definately GWR going by the map, yet the colour scheme is also found on the north Wales coast line, which definiately isn't GWR (again based on the map). Something Regional Railways came up with?

Just to be a pedant for a moment is it not Albert Dock in Liverpool without the 's' - or was that just one of those fancy renamings when Richard and Judy and that weather map moved in?

Probably best left unanswerered until it is proved that it is one of the correct picture identifications!

Eight of those are correct

Just to be a pedant for a moment is it not Albert Dock in Liverpool without the 's'

Whether or not the picture is Liverpool (or Wolverhampton, Avonmouth, Birkenhead, Cricklewood, Fowey or somewhere else) , there's the Albert Dock (singular) in Liverpool, which has, I think probably grown in name to include the whole historic area.

Out of desperation, I offer the following totally cynical ploy (if this is cheating, then feel free to withhold the score) :

1. Swindon
2. Pomona, Manchester Metrolink
3. London Paddington
4. Bradford-on-Avon
5. London King's Cross
6. Stevenage
7. Doniford Halt
8. Swing Bridge over Sheepwash Channel, Oxford
9. Stafford
10. Albert Docks, Liverpool

Hmm.  Wink

Isn't 7. Stogumber, rather than Doniford Halt?  Tongue

But 10. is definitely Liverpool Docks - I reckon!  Grin

OK .. a clue to think about .. centre tracks at terminus stations are hardly likely to be highly polished and well used to the extent of a main line over which trains pass every few minutes.
On that basis, I suggest that the last one is 7. Leiden, Centraal Station - partly on the grounds I was there a few years ago, though as it wasn't dark at the time I don't recognise it.
