6. Gloucester ?
Correct. Gloss, stir. I thought that was one of the hardest to guess as I was using a slang term for a prison. In which case, I was sadly mistaken in thinking that 6 was Albany Prison.

William Huskisson MP▸ was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830. Many more have died in the same way since then. Don't take a chance: stop, look, listen.

In which case, I was sadly mistaken in thinking that 6 was Albany Prison. Well you learn something new every day. Albany Prison is on National Rail Enquiries. No station near it though and that three letter NLC▸ can't be right. ALB is Albrighton. Total coincidence that the picture of the tin of gloss paint was of the 'Albany' brand.

Correct. (George) Lazenby, and, (James T.) Kirk, Oswald (Mosley). I'm quite proud of that one!

Yes, that was a good one, bignosemac: I worked back from Oswald Mosley to get that answer, so to speak.

7 ... Hint: It's another character played by David McCallum.
Well, that leaves a fairly wide field of possibilities ... See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_McCallum

Full marks to BNM for coming up with something delicously different in the quiz stakes. One of his best I think, if the groans, (when you found out the answer) were anything to go by ! Almost drowned out the station announcements at Temple Meads !

Correct! Taunton. But.... naughty Tufty, having another go before the 24 hours were up. Never mind. Just be careful when the ice cream van comes. That just leaves no. 7 to answer. I'll open up the floor for anyone to answer it.
