Eh? It's only ever been part-roofed hasn't it? Open to the elements at one end to allow for smoke and steam egress in days of yore. I've obviously never looked up! Always assumed it was roofed throughout. |

Researching Dungeness lead me to Lydd which lead me to the Hastings demu site .... There are two issues which are occupying us at present:
The funding and fitting of GSM-R▸ radio which is becoming mandated throughout the UK▸ ^s main-line railway network, and is almost unbelievably expensive;
The apparent ORR» Insurance Cap Regulation Change Proposal which, if enacted, would greatly increase our risk in terms of business liability when running railtours, and could require us to raise fares by perhaps ^30 per head just to cover the additional insurance costs. http://www.hastingsdiesels.co.uk/railtours/Goodness .... |

Correctly correctington for the final picture. well done all.  Don't know about technically. The station is referred to as Ashford International by all operators who serve it. National Rail Enquiries makes no distinction between Domestic and International and I can't find a three letter code for Ashford Domestic. The sign above the entrance on the 'town side' says Ashford International. |

On the subject of three letter codes, Ashford must have one of the more obscure codes nowadays. AFK▸ I believe derives from Ashford (Kent), but the station is now called Ashford International so doesn't have a K anywhere in its name.

But when I was Railtrack Engineering Manager for the railway works back in 1995 we always referenced the Eurostar station as International (the big empty one) and Domestic (the little full one) |
