Yep ... "g" in the away quiz is Paris St Lazare ... where I had just arrived from Cherbourg. Then on via Frankfurt to Nurnberg ...

My only experience of that Paris station (going back to Caen) was unpleasant, having just been robbed on the metro of my passport, money and tickets. I spent some time in the Police office and strangely didn't stop to count the number of platforms! (Good gracious - I've just realised I'm beginning to sound like the trout )
