On the daily programme "Homes Under The Hammer" on BBC1 this morning, the team visited Devizes.   The presenter stated that there was no train service there, the nearest station being 6 miles away at Melksham.      He failed to mention there is hardly a train service there.

These programmes go out on repeat ad infinitum. Sooner or later (hopefully sooner) there will be a decent train service; various groups in both Melksham and Devizes are working together to make sure of that. The information given may well be a few sheep short of a flock at the moment, but eventually it'll be correct therefore - and the house which is under the hammer today will tomorrow (or the next day, perhaps) be worth even more once completed.

Let's hope things work out for the good and a decent Trans Wilts service is restored before long.
