I were never much good at english at skool, so nows Im catching up. And there are some silly signs around If you want to travel on one of our trains, you must buy a ticket at the earliest opportunity Ouch! There's a rule I've broken. I'm on my way to Manchester and the earliest opportunity I had ... was on the FGW▸ site offering me a price of 80 pounds single. So I went to the ATW▸ site and got the same journey for 27 pounds. Looks like I was naughty and they expected me to pay the 80 quid because that was the first site I found. Laptops and mobile phones only There's a naughty person opposite me with an iPad plugged in What examples do you have ... can you be more of a pedant than me??

Seen on the doors to First Class on turbos...(hopefully nearly accurate, though the context is right if nothing else) "If you chose to travel in this area, you will be asked to pay for a First Class ticket"
My problems is with the word "will"... firstly IF tickets are every checked they just move people on, secondly, they never really check tickets in my experience..

"If you chose to travel in this area, you will be asked to pay for a First Class ticket"
Seems a bit unreasonable if you've already paid for one before you got on the train too

There is the old favourite "Dogs must be carried on the escalator". Tricky if you don't have a dog.

This door is alarmed. Why? Who scared it?

Away from the railway, the car park by Bristol Oncology Centre has a sign which tells you that "Thieves operate in this area". What the surgeons think of this is not clear.
Liverpool FC‡ were not doing well at the start of the season. At Liverpool John Lennon Airport stands a statue of the eponymous late Beatle, bearing the legend "Above us only sky". Some shining wit had added "Below us only Wolverhampton Wanderers and Wigan Athletic."

Also tricky if you do have a very large dog who doesn't like being carried ...

William Huskisson MP▸ was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830. Many more have died in the same way since then. Don't take a chance: stop, look, listen.
"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner." Discuss.

First Class Lounge is located on the upper concourse. Sign on the door: First Class Lounge is for Virgin Trains Ticket Holders Only... Going off topic. I was mildly p1$$ed off that they allowed entry with a Manchester Piccadilly - Stockport FDS @ ^1.90 but turned away a Manchester Piccadilly - Warrington Central FDS @ ^6.20

"Baby changing facility located in the disabled toilet"
So you can go and swap your baby in a toilet which is not able bodied?
