"Door must be kept locked shut" So that will be a wall then Indeed. Sometimes, it's an even more emphatic "This door must be kept locked at all times." That's not a door.

William Huskisson MP▸ was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830. Many more have died in the same way since then. Don't take a chance: stop, look, listen.

"Please stand clear of the platform edge, the approaching train is not scheduled to stop at this station" Well the train was on time but the announcement was running late... The train went past 2 minutes ago..

"This page is intentionally left blank".
No it isn't, someone has written "This page is intentionally left blank" on it.

What's more, they did it intentionally.

Ah ... perhaps that's why you need to 'use the full length of the platform when boarding the train' - to make an Olympic long jump onto it?

On the stairs to platforms at Bristol Temple Meads:
"Keep to the left & hold the handrails!"
Each staircase has three handrails. How do you hold them all?

"Please make sure you take all your personal belongings with you when leaving the train"... I'm not sure I can get all my possessions onto the train in the first place...
