Is it just me, or do the artist's impressions make it look like they will be building it out of giant Lego pieces? Huh

William Huskisson MP (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post - a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London, depending on context) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: Stop, Look, Listen.

I thought Networkrail's new idea was modular construction with standard prefabricated components so bound to be a bit Lego like.

But like all ideas it's not new look at the Southern Railway's prewar concrete clasics like Surbiton a lot of who's parts came from Exmouth Junction concrete works.

Unfortunately some of their prefabricated concrete was found to be prone to failure during its designed lifetime.  This had something to do with using ballast collected off a local beach when they were short of decent sand and aggregates, apparently.

I like many others think the new Bromsgrove station will be very good for the town and that part of north Worcestershire , its good to see part of the Worcester area railway network updated!!

Hopefully this new station will see more Cross Country services calling. Too much to hope that the longer distance (SW-NE/NW) services will regularly call, but an additional stop added to all the Cardiff <-> Nottingham services would be welcome.

Having said that, the incumbent Cross Country franchisee will no doubt want the fares anomalies involving Bromsgrove to be fixed once and for all. Some recent changes have tinkered at the edges, but I suspect Arriva CrossCountry (or their successors) would want to take full control of the fares flows to and from Bromsgrove should they start to make regular calls throughout the day.

That's a rather underhand bit of quoting. Wikipedia also says:

Perhaps I shouldn't selectively quote you in answer.

Fair comment that it's a different station, in a different age and inflation has probably made it a different price base.  Probably more a reminder of mission creep in projects, and the need to factor in significant changes ("optimism factor") into projects.   I may suggest that the customer base of the new station is probably on the same base as 9 years ago.
