Perhaps Wabtec have been bolting diesel engines and generators on them (inspired by the success of Hitatchi's IETs▸ ?) when they should have been doing the 319/769s?

That Pendolino shot doesn't look like the North Wales Coast Line, but they used to work along there even though there are no wires (answer: they were hauled by class 57s). Is that a real location (with OHLE▸ painted out) or is it a model with a shot of a train superimposed (going by the still frame shown the train is very good CGI▸ , if that's what it is, compared to what you see when new stations are proposed)?

Nice though the Viva Rail trains may be, I don't think I would fancy 3 hours in an underground train. However ponced up it might be.
