From the British Transport Police press release:

Do you recognise this couple? BTP appeals for information after mobile phone theft ^ Devon

British Transport Police (BTP) officers are appealing for the public^s help to trace a man and a woman they would like to speak to in connection with the theft of a passenger^s property on board a train.

Officers have today released CCTV (Closed Circuit Tele-Vision) images of a man and woman they believe will have information which can assist the investigation into the incident which happened on board an Exeter-Paignton service.

Investigating officer, PC Darran Blackwell, said: ^A female passenger on board the 1322hrs Exeter-Paignton service on Thursday, 26 July, reported to police that her mobile telephone had been stolen while she was on board the train. The victim said the theft took place as the train travelled between Exmouth and Exeter stations.

^An investigation into the incident is ongoing and, after reviewing CCTV images from on board the train, I would now like to identify and speak to the man and woman in these photographs as I believe they will have information which can assist us. I^d ask anyone who recognises these people, or if you know their current whereabouts, to please contact British Transport Police.^

Anyone with information should call British Transport Police on Freefone 0800 40 50 40, or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, quoting incident reference B4/WWA of 24/09/2012.

William Huskisson MP (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post - a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London, depending on context) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: Stop, Look, Listen.

"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner."  Discuss.
