FGW▸ extended their Twitter hours from 8-4 to 7-9 on Monday last. Would rather have 6-8 personally....but I doubt Jo on Twitter would welcome that much of an early start....

It's during events such as this that information and progress updates are invaluable, so well done to the team who ensured this happened - both the on-train team and those who update the website & twitter feeds.
Totally agree! Sadly, the timing of the start of my morning journey is prior to the fb/twitter feeds coming online which is sad because they are genuinely very usefull. I think asking Jo to work longer is not on...but maybe we could club together and have Jo cloned?! |

Jo is, I think - 7-2, and the other person 2-9.....

Good to see the hours expanding. To fuel the discussion on whether they would be even better 'slid' earlier, here's a graph (6 or 7 years vintage) of journey start times  Footnote - the * symbols are the times that the TransWilts services start, showing how they're before the peak in the morning, and after the peak in the evening (resulting in no practical commute opportunities); with a later morning and earlier evening train too, the existing trains will become useful as 3 more commute opportunities are added |

The ticket consultation that ended last month include a graph showing journeys ongoing at each hour ... page 111, http://assets.dft.gov.uk/consultations/dft-2012-09/main-document.pdf . Public document, so I think I can quote with reference:  (We've done a lot of looking at what "peak" is  ) |
