This time journeying around the Chiltern Mainline.

Wednesday night he was in High Wycombe, last night he stayed in Banbury. LMS (London Midland Scottish - 1923 to 1948), SAV and BMO to follow. Part of a series to go out in January.

According to SVR insiders, a visit to the Severn Valley Railway/Telford/Ironbridge is also on the cards.
Perhaps this is on the same journey?

Although my current life sees me in FGW (First Great Western) land I grew up in the Banbury area so await this series with interest.

Thanks for posting ChrisB

This shocking footage shows the moment Michael Portillo DELAYS a train just to get a better shot. Tongue

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJX9vg6fBCU&feature=youtu.be&hd=1

A BBC» (British Broadcasting Corporation - home page) spokesman refused to comment. Tongue

(NB: use of "tongue in cheek smilies")

On a day when two people have died on the railways around London, this video hardly qualifies as shocking in the grand scheme of things.  Possibly mildly annoying for some of the passengers on board... but then again they might have enjoyed their famous passenger's company.  Roll Eyes

Do you know what scheduled service it was on? I can check what the delay has been attributed to Tongue

No I don't - perhaps comment on the vid and ask the uploader. (I don't have an account)
If it were greater than 5 mins, would LM (London Midland - recent franchise) get compo from the BBC» (British Broadcasting Corporation - home page)?

Can imagine the headline: "Licence fee payers pay for rail delays" Grin

Looks to me like it was the lady in the white top with the case who was delaying the doors being closed, in the last few seconds of the clip.  And there's no evidence that the train was not waiting time etc.

Think tonight on BBC» (British Broadcasting Corporation - home page) 2 is a new series. The existing ones are being repeated on other channels.

I beg to differ...I think I would remember it as it would have passed near my home town and I think I would have remembered that (but I may be wrong)

The BBC2 and BBCHD series at 18:30 is definitely new.  BBC4 is repeating some programmes at other times.

I was wrong, sorry....just remember them filming it as it was testerday!

So many continuity errors! And who checked MP (Member of Parliament)'s ticket leaving BAN? Didn't look like a train guard/manager to me....:-)
