Yes thanks Btline, a most enjoyable day out in the West Midlands and Shropshire marred only slightly by delays getting home and very poor customer service from London Midland. That's a story covered in
another thread viewable to Frequent Posters.
The Severn Valley Railway is a gem. Not been there since I was a kid. A real surprise on Wednesday was seeing a Southern Railway Bullied Battle of Britain Class locomotive in action. Still running-in following overhaul, but in passenger service.
Best part of the day though was being invited up onto the footplate of
LMS▸ Ivatt Class 4, 43106 at Bridgnorth and being allowed to shovel some coal into the firebox. That mad this big kid very happy!
