I now have a spare ticket for the 16:09 - offered free to anyone who can use it, on receipt of a PM with their address details so I can forward it. My spare ticket has now gone to a good home. |

Was going but...
A comedy of errors...
Applied for two tickets for the 11.08, got a reply saying 'all tickets had gone', shame
Then got another email from 'Vicky Cropper' at FGW▸ saying that had an extra coach (assuming it's a 153) and that i had then been successful, tickets would be with the lucky applicants by last Friday...they never arrived, also received another email from 'V.C' at FGW saying there was a print error on the tickets and to bring them to the gates on platform 8 and it would be sorted so all that were booked could catch the respective trains on the day...How can I do that when I didn't get my tickets??? Emailed her back with my 'problem', received an email saying 'she is now on holiday' and to contact someone else.
I have now given up and will go to Bodmin Railway Diesel Running day on the 29th instead
Therefore , FGW, thanks for nothing basically...wonderful P.R...NOT
But good luck to all who will enjoy the day and trips

I'll be on the 1209 service. Arriving into Temple Meads at 1048 on the 0910 from Southampton Central and whatever Southern service connects into this from Cosham. After the service returns, I'll be heading up to Redland and/or Clifton Down to have a walk down memory lane, so will be departing on the 1434. This is a rather awful mugshot of myself from about a year ago, please say hello if you see me wandering around (I'll probably head to Spoons to grab something to drink)   I am assuming a rear-facing seat on the right side of the train will give the best view and will be forward facing for the majority of the journey? |

I'm heading up from Taunton, quite possibly via Westbury. Two reasons; firstly the 0919 TAU» - WSB» has a Travelling Chef so I can grab some breakfast. Secondly, I do all I can to avoid Voyagers! I'll be at Temple Meads from around 11am. Brucey, looks like my connection at Westbury may have me joining you on your train up from Southampton. I'll look out for you. |

Latest e-mail from First Great Western, in case you haven't seen it: We look forward to meeting you at the Community Rail Festival on Saturday 29 September.
You should now have received your tickets, or confirmation of alternative arrangements. If not please contact me immediately so that we can resolve any outstanding problems.
All the special charter trains will depart from platform 8 and we would be grateful if you can arrive 15 minutes before departure. The trains are made up of two Class 150 units and one Class 153 unit. There is a toilet on board but refreshments are not being served.
As you know we have made the decision to offer complimentary travel on these special services. The Community Rail Festival is however supporting a number of charities who will be represented on the day. To support them and to boost the Festival atmosphere we will be taking a collection as you board - this will be split between the charities present on the day. Giving is not compulsory, but we thought you would want to be prepared!
Stalls supporting the Festival will be on Platform 3 and we do hope you will allow time to visit.

I should hopefully be on the 15:12 and the 16:09, if any forum members want to say hello (I'll definitely look out for the admins!) , I'll look like the picture I've (hopefully!) attached, wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, black backpack, and with a smallish camera bag in front of my stomach, and possibly carrying a tripod..!  |

My plans ... arrive in BRI» at 10:15 and travel on the 11:08 (part of a group with tickets). Leave BRI on the 14:22 or 15:00 to head home. Would love to stay later and meet up with afternoon people (and say "hello" to you, Temple Meads), but there's an 8 hour gap in my trains home from 15:00 until 20:33 for me  |

Ok going to try again. .... If anyone wants a ticket for the 0905 I have 5 spares and I will now be attending .... The people I was going with made other plans when we were told it was fully booked but got tickets anyway! So 5 places who's coming? :-)
