I do find it odd that two of the services don't appear to be going to Portbury, considering it was advertised as such. I will contact Vicky to establish whether the timings I have are correct.

I have also been unsuccessful. However as I wanted to go to Portbury and the 1108 now appears to go to Avonmouth, not too disappointed. Out of curiosity, does anyone know how the tickets were allocated. Was it first come, first served or by ballot as all trains were clearly oversubscribed.

Does anyone know how the tickets were allocated? I'm assuming it was a ballot?

An update, in case some may have not seen their e-mails, I've received the following, from FGW▸ : The tickets for the Community Rail Festival special charter trains have been received in the First Great Western office today. These tickets will be sent out in todays and tomorrows post.
Just to remind you, all the trains will depart from Platform 8 on Saturday 29 September.
Many thanks for your patience.

I got the same email, despite not being successful in the original ballot. I did email Vicky to ask (well, plead!) for any spaces left on the later afternoon services, so it looks like I may have a ticket - just no idea on which service.

Extra space was only, as I understand it, available on the 1608....but I suspect the time will be shown on your ticket....

Another update email It would appear there have been a number of issues with the tickets for the First Great Western Community Rail trains. Unfortunately when the data was transposed from the on line registration some of the information has been incorrectly recorded including the number of tickets you originally requested. Please accept my apologies for this inconvenience,
I can assure you that the number of tickets you originally requested will be honoured on the day. The tickets that you have received will get you through the gateline at Bristol Temple Meads on Saturday 29 September. Once you get to the station either myself or a colleague will be more than happy to take your details and make sure you get the correct number of seats on the correct train.
Once again I am terribly sorry for any inconvenience you may have experienced.
I look forward to seeing you on the 29th September.

I requested tickets for the 09:05 and 12:08 departure from Bristol TM‡ however I have only received the ticket for the 09:05 departure.
I did receive an email from FGW▸ today saying that if I didnt receive all the tickets I requested then staff will be on hand on the day with my details (i.e. what trains I had requested tickets for)

Hmm. This morning, I received two envelopes from FGW▸ - one containing my ticket for the 09:05, and the other addressed to a Daniel Phillips at my address in error. Is Daniel Phillips a member of this forum, by any chance?
