Question I've just been asked, and didn't know the answer to. I'll reword it into context so that others may find the answer useful - I'm sure someone knows.

If your train is cancelled and you have an Advanced Purchase ticket, you can travel on the next train.  But if your planned train is cancelled and you have an off-peak ticket, do you have to wait for the next off peak train?   If - for example - the 16:30 Paddington to Bristol was cancelled and you have an off peak ticket to Chippenham, do you have to wait for the 19:00?

I doubt it. But I'd imagine you'd have to get the ticket office to upgrade your ticket to peak or endorse it for peak use.
