Well, that's what my

email alert just said. Not sure whether it's correct though as the journeycheck site mentions lineside problems causing delays to some services into Paddington and some problems around Reading. Comment on Twitter (#fgw) earlier about a lineside fire near Ealing too.

The Heathrow Express was suspended on the busiest day in the London airport's history - after a fire close to the train track.

Coming into London there have been problems near Westbury. A freight train broke down this morning blocking the

line towards Pewsey and Reading. A number of West of England Services have been diverted via Melksham and Swindon.
Must be taking a bit of fixing as the freight trains is still there tonight.
There's also a security alert at Bristol Parkway.

Caught the tail end of the fire. I wondered why there were so many organge clad workers at West Ealing. Although I didn't see anything of the fire. I was on the 09:36 ex Taplow, whih was abit late off Taplow but as it was five car and the 9:21 took all teh passengers I had 4 seats to myself all teh way to Padd where we arrived 13 late.
Don't know what was up around 14:30 at Padd most trains late leaving, I caught 15:03 Heathrow Connect which surprisng had several groups of airline passengers on it, otherwise it emptied out. But what acontrast to 165/6 a 360 it glides quitely along along seemingly without effort but not very fast plus the a/c seems to work I can't wait to go all the way to Taplow on one.
I can't understand anyone who prefers a

I must admit I did used to like a thrashed 50 on the Slough peak fasts (ancient days) but then an 87 could put up show.

Problem with the fire was the fire brigade requestion an isolation of the overhead wires, trains probably could have ran through otherwise.

Indeed, and to top all that a major signal outage near Paddington last night (26/07) around 8pm resulting in a second successive awful journey out to Reading and then no ongoing connection for >1 hour due to displaced crew.
I would say not a good week overall, but last Friday was a disaster too

Freight last night was moved early evening, so was clear for 1A96 (last
