Electrification has come sooner than expected.    FGW (First Great Western) Journey Check shows 15 12 Bristol Parkway to Weston super Mare has been delayed by 10 mins at Bedminster due to OHLE (Over-Head Line Equipment (electrification via catenary)) problems.     Suspect this could be the root cause and it has been delayed by a XC (Cross Country Trains (franchise)) which has travelled from the wires.

Couple more I've not seen before (I don't think).   Perhaps there's a free type option now?

This is due to engineering works not being finished on time.
This is due to a fault on this train which is now fixed.

Just wondering if anybody has any opinions on the new lay out of Journey Check.

That got me a bit worried that some tinkering may have taken place; it made me realise that I only use this version which hasn't changed:
http://pda.journeycheck.com/firstgreatwestern

People may already know about this, but in addition, I find www.traintimes.org.uk beats the National Rail site hands down for finding times/live running info. It is also customisable from the URL e.g. last train from Reading to Basingstoke tomorrow:
www.traintimes.org.uk/rdg/bsk/last/tomorrow
Live departure board showing only trains from Reading to Paddington:
www.traintimes.org.uk/live/rdg/pad

I access it by clicking on "Current Train Running" at the head of the Home Page and find that is what has changed.

Something funky happening with Journeycheck tonight...

This train has been delayed by up to 1480 minutes, is being further delayed at Newport (South Wales) and is expected to be 1480 minutes late.
This train will be diverted between Swindon and Newport (South Wales).
This train will no longer call at Bristol Parkway.
This is due to a fault with the signalling system.

~24 hours late  Grin

09:38 Reading to Basingstoke due 10:03
This train will no longer call at Reading West, Mortimer and Bramley Hants.
This is due to a speed restriction.

Minimum speed??

It appears this unit has been running behind schedule since 07:30 so this was done to get it back on schedule as it has tight turnaround times all throughout the day, looks as if there was a problem in the Reading West area since first thing this morning that was the initial cause

19:08 Portsmouth Harbour to Cardiff Central due 22:49
This train is being delayed between Bath Spa and Bristol Temple Meads and is now expected to be 33 minutes late.
This is due to a supermarket trolley on the track.

06:58 Cheltenham Spa to Swindon due 09:04
Will be formed of 2 coaches instead of 3.
This is due to a shortage of trains because of extra safety inspections.

There's a couple of trains that are a carriage down this morning (different diagrams) and the 07:49 (at Melksham) TransWilts turned up with 2 carriages rather than one ... something being checked on all 153 units?

P.S.  +9, -0 @MKM» (Melksham (Station code) - next trains) -> 35 ... 35/9 ... but NOT a typical morning.  Currently in Coach B of the 08:17 Chippenham to Bath and Bristol - just over a dozen people in the carriage when I would normally expect it to be pretty busy.

13:07 Taunton to Cardiff Central due 15:24
This train will no longer call at Worle, Yatton and Nailsea & Backwell.
This is due to passengers causing a disturbance on this train.

Whats BNM been up to this time?  Roll Eyes

Hmmm.  Roll Eyes

I have it on the very best of authority that my colleague bobm travelled through Nailsea & Backwell twice today (I assume in opposite directions).  Roll Eyes

William Huskisson MP (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post - a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London, depending on context) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: Stop, Look, Listen.
