Quick and easy picture quiz. Name as many as you can. Can they all be answered by the end of the FA cup final this afternoon? 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.

That's one of your famous trick questions, Graham, and I claim my ^5 No, they can't all be answered by the end of the FA Cup Final this afternoon, for the simple reason that the FA Cup Final isn't taking place until this evening

I'm struggling with these but I'll have a punt at the 4th one being looking toward Stoke Gifford from the A38 near Filton.

Yes indeed ... No. 2 is Chippenham, and No. 4 is taken from where the A38 crosses the currently freight-only railway north of Filton at - err - North Filton platform - see http://www.disused-stations.org.uk/n/north_filton/index.shtml for some old pictures of that station

First one is, I think, a bit cheeky - LUAS in Dublin. Last one is further south-west - either Tarka▸ or Gunnislake? The Stoke Gifford one - is that Parkway Station on the right, with the curved roof?

Yes ... 1. Luas at Citywest, Dublin (subject of much past posting of mine). 2. Chippenham (the SWT▸ train was supposed to be a bit of a red herring 3. NOT YET IDENTIFIED - rather surprised at this 4. Indeed, Stoke Gifford. It's looking in the right direction for Bristol Parkway - could well be, but I don't know the area well enough to confirm 5. NOT YET IDENTIFIED - and this is quite a tough one due to lack of unusual visual clues. Not "way on down" in spite of the advert on the train. Taken on a stretch of line where I would like to see an extra 9 services per day, each way, in the next franchise, and where there is capacity for them without infrastructure investment.

A teasing clue for number 5! I notice the "Devon & Cornwall" splash on the side, and a long, yet indistinct, name on the board. Okehampton?

People are still guessing too far west for number 5!
And I suspect CfN knows No. 3

Looking closer, I am now sure that the curved structure in no 4 is Parkway. The bridge before that carries the South Wales line, and the new electric train depot will be built just past that, on the left. Haven't found a good place to take pictures yet; although I have flown over it a few times, I have always been a bit busy at the time.

I'd agree that the structure is almost certainly BPW» . There's nothing of a similar shape on the line of sight from the location that grahame took the photo.

A real long shot but is no 5 where the Badingstoke line splits from the Kennet line - just south of reading west (probably far too east now!)
