The Evening Standard ran a promotion last Thursday offering 20,000 return tickets at 50p available for Chiltern Railways' 'new' service. Travel period is until 25 May. There are a few T's & C's e.g. travel not allowed on Sundays or over the May Bank Holiday period (5-7 May). 800 tickets available on weekdays and 400 on Saturdays.

Just to say that the Evening Standard is repeating its 2012 promotion with Chiltern Trains that has 25,000 tickets available to travel between Marylebone and Birmingham for a limited period.

Details at chilternrailways.co.uk/eveningstandard50offer but if you don't want to look at that, the offer is valid for travel up to 17 May on selected trains through the week (not Sundays and several Saturdays) and is only available via Chiltern's website.

Only valid between the two stations as well. No break of journey etc allowed.

Oh, Bank Holiday Monday in May excluded too.

Also to note: return tickets must start from London, not from Birmingham.

William Huskisson MP (Member of Parliament) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: stop, look, listen.

"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner."  Discuss.

They're actually not Returns, but issued as singles, so you can have a single from Birmingham for 50p - you just have to nbook an unused single from London earlier!
