I have just completed a lovely 3 day railtour using a FoSW rail rover ticket.  However, the there were two disappointing elements:

1) Failing to watch my time... and missing the 0857 from PNZ to STI ... and had to catch a bus  Sad

2) Returning to LSK on the 1612 off LOO.... I had to wait at LSK for nearly 55 minutes to escape... and even the pub opposite the station was closed, and, although the ticket office was open, the buffet was not!  Now I can appreciate, with all the branch lines off the EXD» (Exeter St Davids - next trains) to PNZ line that tying in mainline services to connect with branch lines must be a nightmare; for as soon as you amend one service, you have a knock on effect on others.  However, I did find this both disappointing and perhaps a hindrance for other leisure users during the summer???

I once had a 153 to myself from Liskeard all the way down to Looe. I said to the lady in the ticket office "Wouldn't it be cheaper to put me in a taxi rather than send a whole train down to Looe"

She replied: "Now that would be the logical thing to do, but this is a railway, Logical is not in the railway Dictionary!"
