Rover Date Boxes

Has anyone seen a two-part rover ticket issued recently?

Previously, you would write in the validity dates using a pen on the second coupon.  I see that the National Rail website now says (for FOSS^▸ (Freedom of Severn & Solent Rover) anyway) that the boxes should be marked with a X.

Just as a general question, has the format of these tickets changed?  An X in the box certainly seems easier than a date and prevents misunderstandings where the handwriting cannot be read.

yes but you could use the same "X" as many days as you wanted! you must still put a date in!

Had FOSW^▸ (Freedom of (the) South West Rover) two weeks ago and I was pulled up on day two for forgetting to put the date on it... so TM^‡(resolve)'s are still looking for dates... and was checked twice by Revenue Inspectors... so I think the dates are still required.

bigdaz, were they printed so you had to write the date in or were the dates pre-printed and needed selecting with an X?
