Checking the 'journeycheck' page first thing this morning produced the news that the underground platforms are closed 'due to lack of staff'. This'll cause some chaos this morning - but I don't ever remember seeing anything like this before.

That's totally unacceptable does that mean 13/14 are shut as well?

Yes it is. What makes it worse for me is that in all my time of using the H&C line, I have only ever seen someone in the ticket office at the top of the stairs.

It is totally unacceptable, you're right.  That's not a ticket office though, it's where staff control the information and monitor passenger flow for platforms 15/16.  Trouble is, that area is SO busy pending the new station opening next year that adequate staff do have to be there to maintain safety.  I expect a shortage of those staff is the reason for the closure.

Oops, sure that was a ticket window/help point.

Well it acts as a help point too.  Just don't try asking for a ticket though...  Wink
