William Huskisson MP (Member of Parliament) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: stop, look, listen.

"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner."  Discuss.

My sympathy to the crew involved...! Sad

Purely on a selfish point of view, I'm going to be caught up in this. I'm on the 21:20 off Waterloo to Salisbury, was hoping to make the 23:00 to Westbury but that's showing as delayed which means I am going to miss the 00:04 Service to Frome. Now normally under the such unfortunate circumstances I wouldn't mind at all. But I've been awake for going on for 38 hours and counting, and considering my dyer experiences today with Southern. I am seriously cheesed off and would like to get home in the not too distant future!

This was the second person hit in one day for South West Trains.  Coupled with all sorts of other problems, not a good day at all yesterday.
