London's Victoria Tube station has been evacuated following a reported bang on a "faulty" train.
Transport for London said there were problems with a District line train due to faulty brakes.
An eyewitness told BBC London they heard a bang and there was smoke under a train.
Ben Roe, 24, who was on the train said: "The train was coming into the station when there was a big bang. There was loads of smoke."
Eyewitnesses said the station was completely evacuated with eight fire engines drawn up outside.
"Everyone was jumping off the train and running," Mr Roe said.
"People were tripping up over each other as they ran up the stairs.
"We were told to get out of the station by any exit possible.
"People were absolutely terrified."
British Transport Police said Victoria mainline station remained open.
The Tube train has been moved to Mansion House depot in central London.
