Arrive back morning of 8th.  Don't want to do advance first as frankly I have no idea if plane will arrive on time, how long I'll be in the revive lounge etc etc

If there is nothing unusual about the 8th I will jus roll up at Pad and do weekend first upgrade and head home

If its expected to be a scrum, diverted via timbuctoo, etc etc I will either go for an advance or stay over night at friends and travel back on the sunday

Info from the panel please.

Paddington to Nailsea & Backwell shouldn't be an issue on Saturday 8th Jan. Have checked Journey Planners and all scheduled services are running to timetable and route. Departures are xx:00 services change Temple Meads or xx:45 change Bristol Parkway. Direct services at 1730, 1900 & 2030.

Thanks

I land at 1030 in the morning so allow a couple of hours to get out of the airport and another 30 mins or so to get to Pad then it should be close to 1 - don't think I'll wait for the direct so will head off on whatever the next train to bristol is

Just booked an advance for Sunday (have a reunion in London on the 8th for a group of friends!!!!)

But confused...

2 hours 21 minutes from PAD» (Paddington (London) - next trains) to Yatton

Seems a bit long so assume a diversion but national rail is showing normal stops

Tis rather leisurely to Reading, (assuming you are referring to the 1500 ex PAD» (Paddington (London) - next trains)) taking 10 minutes longer than a similar weekday service.

Track improvement work in the Paddington area. So probably means that some running lines will be closed or subject to TSRs (Temporary Speed Restriction).

From FGW (First Great Western) Timetable Alterations page:
Quote
From approximately 1920 on Saturday 8 and all day Sunday 9 January 2011 most trains to and from London Paddington will be subject to alteration due to track improvement works in the London Paddington area.

Some services will not run and other services will be retimed.
