From the BTP (British Transport Police):

Quote
British Transport Police (BTP) officers are appealing for the public^s help to identify a man they would like to speak to in connection with the theft of a passenger^s luggage from on board a train in Exeter.

Officers have today released CCTV (Closed Circuit Tele-Vision) images of a man they believe will have information which can assist the investigation into the incident which took place on Sunday, 3 February 2013.

PC Lennard Knott, investigating officer, said: ^The victim, who was travelling on an Exmouth-Paignton service, placed his green backpack on the overhead luggage rack.

^Shortly after he got off the train at Exeter Central rail station, at about 9.36am, he realised he had left his luggage behind. The train had already departed so he reported it to staff at the station.

^The train was checked when it arrived at Exeter St Davids station a few minutes later but the man^s backpack was missing from the luggage rack.

^After reviewing CCTV images and speaking to witnesses, I would now like to identify and speak to the man in these photographs as I believe he will have key information which can assist police.

^If you have any information, I would ask that you contact BTP straight away.^

Anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police on Freefone 0800 40 50 40, or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

In all calls, please quote incident reference B6/WWA of 11/03/2013.
