William Huskisson MP (Member of Parliament) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: stop, look, listen.

Rumour that a DMU (Diesel Multiple Unit) hit a tree around the Westbury area this morning.  Don't know how true that is though.

Anyone know anything about it?

0519 Gloucester to Southampton was 15 late into Westbury this morning because of 'an obstruction on the line'. It was then cancelled. Looking at the timings it would appear that the obstruction was somewhere between Trowbridge and Westbury.

So could've have been a tree or branches on the line. Has been quite breezy today.

We have plenty of EX (as opposed to ZE) drivers that sign class 142 and Paddington. I understand two West guards will quite soon also be in that category.
