British Transport Police are urging Vale train users to help them catch a man who indecently exposed himself in one of the carriages. Police have just released CCTV▸ images of a man they want to talk to in connection to the incident which happened between Honeybourne and Moreton-in-Marsh on Thursday, July 15.
A 19-year-old woman on board the 6.49pm service from Worcester Shrub Hill to London Paddington was using her mobile phone as the train approached Moreton-in-Marsh Station. As she ended the call she saw a man sat across the aisle who was staring at her while exposing himself at the same time. The victim rushed from the carriage in a distressed state and reported the incident to the train guard. It is believed the man then left the train at Moreton-in-Marsh Station.
The train passed through Pershore, Evesham and Honeybourne stations on its way to Moreton and so anyone who got on at these stops may have seen the man.
Det Cons Richard Day appealed for witnesses who were on the train at the time and anyone who recognises the man to come forward.
"This was a sickening and disgusting act which left the victim feeling shocked and upset," he said. "Enquiries are ongoing and after viewing CCTV from Worcester Shrub Hill, we have identified a man we would like to speak to so that we can eliminate him from our enquiries. "I would urge anyone who recognises the man in these CCTV images to contact BTP▸ straight away."
Anyone who knows the identity of the man in these images, or his whereabouts, is asked to contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
