Just had an email from FGW (First Great Western) offering 60% off for spring travel.

It also appears on the FGW site.

No, I can't find it either - I suspect it's another unlinked page that they're quite good at hiding...

Hmm.  I too did some digging earlier, but I couldn't find anything obvious on the FGW (First Great Western) website.

I can only assume it's a cunningly concealed update for their usual offer on Advance tickets:

Quote
The benefits of Advance tickets include:
 - Discounts of between 15% and 60%. Every month our maximum discount of 60% is offered on at least 90,000 seats!

I had the email.  It was simply saying (in a round about way) that advance fares can be 60% cheaper than walk-up fares.

Yahoo quite rightly puts emails from FGW (First Great Western) into SPAM (unsolicited advertising emails or forum posts,) it also tends to block popups and pictures.

If I click on on the view online hyperlink below this is what I get.

Up to 60% savings on train tickets - it's time to plan your next trip!

January blues are nearly over. The weather's hopefully getting better. Days are getting just a little longer^

So, now it's time to get out of your shell and start planning those trips away.

Spring breaks, half-term days out and Easter holidays are great excuses to relax and enjoy some of our great towns, cities and countryside - and when the journey starts on the train, you can avoid the jams and make it an adventure!

Make your plans now and grab a great deal on our Advance tickets on www.firstgreatwestern.co.uk - the earlier you book the cheaper they are!

Find UK (United Kingdom) train times and buy train tickets at www.firstgreatwestern.co.uk

One-way fares shown are our lowest priced Advance Standard available to purchase on the First Great Western website, and are subject to availability. Prices correct at time of production. Advance tickets are available on selected trains and are valid only for the train shown on the ticket. Savings of up to 60% are based on a comparison of First Great Western's Super-Off Peak return fares and lowest price Standard Advance fares.

   Half-term days out
For those with children, finding things to do over half-term can be a chore. So why not plan a great fun day out? Grab a great value ticket, then take the train to Bristol, Bath, Oxford or London and use the 2FOR1 vouchers at loads of attractions, museums, and restaurants - saving you money on a great day out.
