Is it just me, or do people think that Voyager side display would be more logical if it read either:

Destination
XXXX
viaYYYY
Next Stop
ZZZZ

or even:

Next Stop
ZZZZ
Destination
XXXX
via YYYY

rather than the way they have done since new:

Destination
Man Picc
Next Stop
Southampton Air
via Birmingham New St

I don't think much logic was used at any stage of the Voyager design process!

Yes - I was very clear (I think) that it was the on-train display - sorry if my post lacked clarity for anyone

I'm very conscious that it's natural to critisize (which makes it all too easy!) and much more rare to give praise ... even when it's due.  I was at Clifton Down on Sunday and took a picture of their impressive information point:

Just one question ... we were promised that the previous generation system (which has been out of order completely for periods of up to six weeks) at Melksham would be replaced within the first years of the FGW (First Great Western) franchise.   Come the first of next month, we'll be halfway through the (initial) 7 year period of the franchise - when are we going to see the promised improvements on the Swindon and Chippenham to Trowbridge and Westbury line?

You can find out more about how this forum works [here] - that will link you to a copy of the forum agreement that you can read before you join, and tell you very much more about how we operate. We are an independent forum, provided and run by customers of Great Western Railway, for customers of Great Western Railway and we welcome railway professionals as members too, in either a personal or official capacity. Views expressed in posts are not necessarily the views of the operators of the forum.

As well as posting messages onto existing threads, and starting new subjects, members can communicate with each other through personal messages if they wish. And once members have made a certain number of posts, they will automatically be admitted to the "frequent posters club", where subjects not-for-public-domain are discussed; anything from the occasional rant to meetups we may be having ...
