I have used this offer several times, and everytime I have used it I have been on my own. In the past no Train Manager has queried this, but today one did. In the terms and conditions there is no restriction on travelling alone that I can see. Can anyone clarify whether you can travel alone? Thanks

Provided you buy two tickets, one for you, and one for your mate Harvey, then I see no issue. Should you choose not to pay for Harvey then there could be a problem.

Do you have to travel on FGW (First Great Western) trains all the way?

We are looking to travel from Bath to Hereford this Sat. and route options are either via Newport or convoluted just to get there on blue trains.

So that'll be Bath - Great Malvern (or WOS» (Worcester Shrub Hill - next trains)) - Hereford then.

Any suggestions as to which would be favourite to wait for the connection as I've stopped off at neither.

Great Malvern is nice - I dont think there is anything much near there - then again there is nothing much near WOS

you might be better getting off at WOF - its about a 15 minute walk to WOS and you can do some shopping on the way

Depends on your definition of anything much I suppose. In terms of a stop off, Worcester Shrub Hill would be favourite if you like admiring run down industrial estate architecture from various parts the 20th Century, Foregate Street if your idea of fun is a long staircase leading down to a typical chain filled city centre shopping street, or Great Malvern if you like lovely scenery and fancy a lie down in the sun on the tranquil small gardens just outside the station exit. I know which I'd choose...  Cool

p.s. Great Malvern town centre, not so full of chain shops, and the gateway to the hills, is about a 10 minute walk from Great Malvern station. Worth a wander if you have enough time?

Malvern I^ve visited before on a couple of occasions with work, quite a nice place, unfortunately the 1007 from Bath only does WOS» (Worcester Shrub Hill - next trains)  Sad, so we^ll be stuck there for all of 30 min waiting for the 1245(ish).

Cycling back from Hereford to Filton with a stop off in Monmouth camping on Sat night, which should be fun as we^re doing it on Bromptons.  Undecided Undecided

Anyway thanks for all the suggestions guys.

PS

FA if you^ve not done your day out yet then I would recommend Avoncliff/Bradford, only the stretch from BTM (Bristol Temple Meads (strictly, it should be BRI)) withouth power, about 40 mins, but I^m sure the Cross Guns would let you plug in. A nice walk along the canal to Bradford then the train home as you^ll probably feel a bit wobbly by then.
